WHAT IS HANGAR CAMPUS?

HANGAR Campus is an open innovation program where we offer comprehensive support to undergraduate, graduate, and PhD students to transform their business ideas into a marketable business models.

Our program ensures the development of product, service, and/or business model innovations on the topics covered in each semester related to our products and project processes and aims to develop entrepreneurial skills of our young talents, offering entrepreneur graduates to the ecosystem.

BENEFITS TO PARTICIPANTS

INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT

Support for the machinery, equipment, consumables, software, laboratory use etc.

PROOF OF CONCEPT

Opportunity to test the solution in the field by implementing PoC at our facilities.

MVP SUPPORT

Financial support to help teams realize their MVP, which is a demo of the solution they have developed.

PATENT DRAFTING SUPPORT

Expert support by our Patent Engineers during the patent drafting process for projects that would be subject to patents, and the associated application costs.

MENTORSHIP

Business model and technical mentorship support from domain experts throughout the program.

FREE OFFICE SUPPORT

Free office use for 1 year for 3 teams in Teknopark Ankara, and 1 year for 1 team in Teknopark Istanbul.

Direct experience transfer from Türkiye's best engineers throughout the process in the field of aerospace.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP TRAINING

Comprehensive entrepreneurship training that will provide participants with all the skill sets required while transforming a business idea into a marketable business model at the Innovation Camp to be held as part of the program.

MEETING WITH INVESTORS

The opportunity to network with the ecosystem’s top investors during the Demo Day at the end of the program and obtain funding for your start-up idea.

TURKISH AEROSPACE STUDIO

At the end of the program, successful young entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to utilize the Turkish Aerospace Studio, equipped with necessary tools and devices for professional video shooting, free of charge for a specified time.

Young talents studying at associate, undergraduate, graduate, or PhD programs of the universities in Türkiye can apply to our HANGAR Campus Program (provided that they are not currently employed by another organization). There are no requirements for academic department or grade in the application process.
Innovative projects applying to HANGAR Campus; It will be evaluated based on compliance with the call scope, innovation, value proposition, commercialization potential, team competence and technical feasibility criteria.
 
  • • Innovativeness
    1. o The idea should contain elements of innovation. (*)
    2. o The idea should feature a novel product, service, or business model.
    3. o The idea should include an incremental (**), semi-radical, or radical innovation.
  • • Value Proposition
    1. o The idea’s value proposition should be clear, easy to understand, and state how it differs from its competitors.
    2. o The value proposition for the idea should offer specific motives for the customer to purchase and utilize the product or service.
    3. o The idea should improve customer loyalty and experience.
  • • Technical Feasibility
    1. o Feasibility of the idea in line with the existing technical capabilities and the requirements of the relevant field (standards, etc.)
    2. o Feasibility of the idea with the competencies of the team members.
  • • Potential for Commercialization
    1. o The idea should have the potential to be purchased by customers if commercialized.
  • • Compliance with the Call’s Scope


(*) Improving (Optimizing) the current processes, and improving and indigenizing existing products, facilitating testing processes, reducing costs, and improving production methods are not covered in the program's scope.

(**) If the incremental innovation involves an improvement in the product rather than the process and if it addresses the external customer.
The topics of our HANGAR Campus Program are determined by us for each program period and announced on our Innovation Portal.
Your most recent student certificate that you have obtained from your university or from e-Government and your resume would be enough when submitting your application.
HANGAR Campus, an open innovation program for our young talents, lasts for around six to nine months.
If you have completed an undergraduate/master's/doctoral thesis on the topic we have announced, you can apply to HANGAR Campus with this study. HANGAR Campus is a program looking for innovative business ideas and particularly business models. In this regard, projects that are considered to have exclusively academic and scientific dimensions (not marketable) are ineligible for our program.
No, the project team should only consist of students.
You cannot apply to HANGAR Campus simultaneously with a project that has already been accepted to one of our LIFT UP Programs. Teams that have completed the LIFT UP programs can also apply to HANGAR Campus if their projects are in line with the requirements of HANGAR Campus.
Yes, it is not obligatory to apply as a team.
Teams should consist of a minimum of two and a maximum of five people.
No, young talent's GPA is not taken into consideration for admission to HANGAR Campus.
The HANGAR Campus Program is also open to foreign/exchange students who are currently residing in Türkiye and enrolled in a Turkish university.
Multiple business ideas are acceptable as long as they are innovative and unique.
The HANGAR Campus Pre-Evaluation Committee consists of our Intrapreneurship and Innovation Management experts and technical experts on the related topic.

The Innovation Committee, the final jury that will evaluate the projects during the Demo Day, consists of Turkish Aerospace senior management and representatives of relevant ecosystem stakeholders.
The list of young talents admitted to the program will be announced on our Innovation Platform within 30 days following the application deadline
Yes. Our HANGAR Campus Program's first semester will be conducted completely online. Teams that are qualified to take part in the program will receive invitation links via email. The Demo Day event and the Award Ceremony are held as physical participation.
After the training they received at the innovation camp, project teams start customer meetings within the scope of their business ideas and carry out verification of their business ideas. After customer interviews, if needed, they can apply for MVP support by explaining their expenditure items and requirements. The amount of MVP budget support may vary depending on the business idea.
Yes, at the end of the program, prize money of 150.000 TL will be presented to the 1st Team, 120.000 TL to the 2nd Team, and 90.000 TL to the 3rd Team.
At the end of each semester, teams that complete the program are optionally invited to the HANGAR Campus Alumni Network. In this network; mentoring, B2B, R&D cooperation, infrastructure, etc. Opportunities such as support are available, and teams have the chance to continue their cooperation opportunities with TAI. In addition, network members may also have the opportunity to receive priority application evaluation if they apply to other relevant career programs of TAI.
